# Using TractionScout with Plausible, PostHog, or DataFast

Choose the tool that measures the customer behavior you need, then decide
whether TractionScout's evidence, proposed changes, and review workflow help
you act on it. An existing analytics dashboard can remain useful. Do not
replace an instrumented source merely to add a growth assistant.

TractionScout is an AI growth assistant for product and marketing decisions.
It brings supported source evidence into a project, investigates a question
against the owner's objective, and prepares work with a measurement plan.
Its current provider catalog determines what it can read or execute.

## Which job does each tool serve?

| Tool | A useful reason to keep or choose it | Where to inspect its current capabilities |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Plausible | Aggregate website traffic, goals, search referrals, and privacy-focused reporting | [Plausible product and demo](https://plausible.io/) |
| PostHog | Product events, funnels, retention, paths, and product experimentation | [PostHog product analytics docs](https://posthog.com/docs/product-analytics) |
| DataFast | Traffic and payment-provider attribution focused on revenue questions | [DataFast product and demo](https://datafa.st/) |
| TractionScout | Connect available evidence to an objective, inspect a problem, and prepare a reviewable product or marketing change | [How TractionScout works](/docs/overview.html) |

This is a comparison of jobs, not a claim that one product lacks every other
capability. Plans, configurations, and permissions affect what each can do.
Inspect the linked product documentation and a real workflow before deciding.

## Plausible with TractionScout

Keep Plausible if its aggregate website view answers your traffic and goal
questions. TractionScout has a Plausible read connector; check the catalog's
current setup requirements and your site access before connecting it.

Plausible's [Stats API](https://plausible.io/docs/stats-api) is read-only and
its hosted offering requires an eligible plan. Keys are scoped to the team
that owns the relevant site. Choose that team, the exact site domain, and
the appropriate API host when using the TractionScout connection form.

Do not interpret Plausible's aggregate goal counts as an automatically joined
individual signup-to-Stripe funnel. Ask Scout to retain the source's scope
and tell you which comparisons the available data supports. If you need
product-step identity or ordering that is not recorded, resolve that
measurement gap first.

## PostHog with TractionScout

Keep PostHog's event exploration and product investigation alongside Scout's
cross-source readout and prepared changes. Use the
[PostHog connection guide](/docs/connect-posthog.html) to import supported
product-event evidence with a scoped personal key. Check event definitions,
the intended project, and bounded historical coverage after sync.

PostHog's own [funnel report](https://posthog.com/docs/product-analytics/funnels)
can help inspect a required sequence and compare completion rates. When
using those findings in TractionScout, retain the population, ordering, and
completion window rather than silently changing the denominator. Optional
execution of an experiment is separately authorized from an analytics read.

## DataFast and TractionScout

DataFast offers native payment-provider workflows, revenue attribution, and
agent access through its [API, CLI, and MCP documentation](https://datafa.st/docs).
Its [Search Console guide](https://datafa.st/docs/google-search-console)
describes keyword revenue as an estimate derived from page revenue and search
data. That distinction matters when using a keyword number to make a decision.

This guide does not establish a native DataFast connector in TractionScout.
Check the live provider catalog before assuming any direct connection. If
DataFast already answers your question, use its recorded report and keep its
attribution definition. Do not promise automated imports or joined customer
journeys until a supported path is available and verified.

## Make a decision with a real question

For “Where do trial users get stuck?”, start with
[trial activation](/workflows/posthog-stripe-readout.html). For “Why do people
see our page but skip it?”, use [Search Console clicks](/workflows/search-console-content-experiment.html).
For “Which source brings suitable users?”, use
[acquisition channel activation](/docs/acquisition-channel-activation.html).

Inspect the source evidence, the proposed draft, and the measurement plan
before approving action. Read [measurement methodology](/docs/measurement-methodology.html)
for identity, coverage, and causal limits. A demo, logo, or feature claim
cannot substitute for verified evidence from your own product.
